Getting Ready for the TAFE Virtual Campus
Setting up
your Browser - (NETSCAPE communicator)
It is recommended
when using the TAFE VC that your browser has JavaScript enabled and the
cache is set to update the pages `every time' that you visit a page.
The browser keeps a copy of a page in its cache memory. If you re-visit
a page the browser will bring a copy of the page from its cache.
Because the pages in the TAFE Virtual Campus will be changing as you work
through them you need to set up your browser's cache so that it gets a
new copy of the page each time you visit the page.
Enabling JavaScript
You will also need
to make sure that your browser is set up to allow both JavaScript and
Java . This is set in Netscape by doing the following:
Select the `Edit Menu'- then `Preferences'
Select the `Advanced'
menu.
Set the enable Java
and enable JavaScript options in the Advanced window
as shown in the diagram below.
Setting the
Cache
Select the `Cache'
option in the `Advanced' menu. Select the "Every time" radio
button as shown
