TAFE VC – section backups

It is the responsibility of each institution to perform an individual back up of a section(s) before deleting.

To keep your database clean you may choose to delete unused/inactive sections. Should you wish to perform this task, it is your responsibility to perform the necessary backups first.

e-Works recommends:
- only one Provider Administrator be given permission to delete sections where required and
- all staff are strongly advised that deleting sections should not be taken lightly.

In instances where a backup was not performed and a deletion took place, it is possible to request for section(s) data to be re-instated but it should be noted that this would be at a cost to the requesting organisation. A quote will be provided at the time of such requests.

Checkpoints:
We suggest you allocate a specific checkpoint once a year to clear your system of obsolete sections. As above, ensure backups are undertaken first. Should you wish to store copies of obsolete sections to external media this can be achieved also. Please refer to the TAFE VC Administration manual, the online Blackboard manual or the TAFE VC ticket system Knowledge Base for further information.
Note: Section backups can be run by trainers and administration staff. All backup steps are covered in TAFE VC teacher and administration training, the online Blackboard manual and the TAFE VC ticket system Knowledge Base.
